Oregon vs. Boise State

Thursday Morning Surface Map
The most intriguing matchup of the Thursday Night Games is between the 16th ranked Oregon Ducks and the 14th Ranked Boise State Broncos at 8:15 PM Mountain Time. It looks as though the weather will cooperate as well making this game the official “Best Weather Winner” of the week. An area of high pressure will be centered near Yellow Stone providing a beautiful evening for college football. A cold front will be moving out of the Cascades but the inclement weather will remain well west of Boise. Clear skies and light and variable winds will allow the temperatures which reach the upper 80s in the afternoon to drop into the 70s by kickoff. Temperatures will continue to fall throughout the game but remain very comfortable.
Kickoff Temp: 78°F
Half Time Temp: 69°F
4th Quarter Temp: 63°F
Predicted Game Outcome: Oregon 31 Boise State 38

South Carolina vs. NC State

Thursday Morning Surface Map
The SEC ventures into the ACC Thursday Night when South Carolina and NC State kickoff at 7PM Eastern time on ESPN. For the most part the weather looks to cooperate for the game but we will be watching an area of low pressure off the North Carolina Coast. This system will keep the winds out of the north east through the game. The area of low pressure is not forecast to be very strong so winds will not be a factor. We could see some scattered showers through the game however most of the precipitation should stay East of Raleigh. So if you’re heading to the game it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pack a poncho but all in all, not a bad forecast for kickoff.
Kick off Temp: 76°F
Halftime Temp: 68°F
4th Quarter Temp: 66°F
Predicted outcome for the game: South Carolina 17 NC State 14

Introduction

As we get ready to enter the greatest time of the year, college football season, I have decided it might be fun to blog about weather forecast for major games across the country and also pick out a worst weather winner and best weather winner of the week. I will also try to prognosticate the outcome of a few games each week. We are two weeks away from the start of what I call the greatest sport there is, college football!

Let’s have some fun!
